Shadé Zahrai Official op Instagram : "Tell me if this sounds familiar… You know there’s something you need to do, But you’re totally overthinking it. You’re over-planning… over-researching… over-analysing… Instead of taking action, you’re stuck in the overthinking cycle of analysis paralysis. You’re completely stuck. Overthinking actually kills productivity because it dupes us into believing that we’re doing something worthwhile, when often we’re simply killing time with unnecessary ‘extras’. Not only that, we know from science (and experience) that overthinking can increase anxiety and stress. So what can we do? Well, we know (thanks to Parkinson’s Law) that we tend to fill the time we’re given - If you’re given a week, you’ll take a week. If you’re given a day, you’ll miraculously get it done in a day. So, you can simulate a sense of urgency to prompt you into a state of greater attention and focus by giving yourself a deadline! ⏰ You want it to be realistic yet still add just that little bit of pressure. I use this technique all the time and can personally vouch for how great it is. 🙂 Have you ever noticed that how long it takes you complete something seems to expand or contract depending on when the deadline is? Let me know in the comments! And tag someone you know who gets stuck in analysis paralysis!👇 #overthinking #overthinkingmind #overanalysis #analysisparalysis #cognitiveoverload #peakperformance #criticalthinking #organiser #organized #rumination #cognition #productivity #performance #motivation #productivitytips #productivitytools #overanalyze #overthinkeverything #decisionmaking #decisions" (1)Parkinson’s law
